Between the wave and the word — A meditation on creation, surrender, and pothe silence in between.
Are you the wave,
or the rider?
The mover,
or the moved?
The singer,
or the song?
The light,
or the reflection?
The fight,
or the flight?
The wind,
or the feather?
The signal,
or the noise?
The hand,
or the quill?
The writer,
or the story?
Or the silence between them all—
longing, patient, waiting.

I wrote ‘Between the Wave and the Word’ after seeing waves of inspired work ripple through the creative world—artists responding to art, writers feeding off each other’s sparks.
It made me wonder: Are we ever the origin of creation, or merely the vessel it flows through?
Maybe every poem, painting, and melody is just the universe borrowing our hands for a moment.
What do you feel you are today—the wave, or the rider?
